Chris Pine and Thandie Newton play two CIA operatives, and former lovers in the Amazon movie, All the Old Knives. The thriller is based on the novel of the same name by Olen Steinhauer and follows veteran operative Henry Pelham (Chris Pine) as he is assigned to root out the mole from among his former officemates at the agency’s Vienna station. It’s a riveting tale of global espionage, moral ambiguity, and deadly betrayal.
Axis’ Howard Jones was the overall VFX supervisor for the production on the year-long project which was filmed under Covid safety restrictions in and around London. Axis Studios were sole VFX vendors on the show creating over 200 shots across the film including transforming the London skyline to create the city of Vienna and its airport scenes.
